DSP is proud to present Tally Hall together with Jukebox the Ghost and Skybox in a special ALL AGES show on Friday, March 5th at the Haunt on Willow Avenue in Ithaca.  The show will start promptly at 8PM.  The pride of Ann Arbor comes to Ithaca to spread their unique take on rock and roll that’s recently found them opening for Rooney across the US.

DSP is proud to welcome The Books to Cornell Cinema on March 30. They will be out in support of their forthcoming LP The Way Out (check out their new tumblr!), their first proper studio release since 2005’s Lost and Safe. The Books also recently dropped a track on the incredible Dark Was the Night compilation released in early 2009. With a scant history of live shows, we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome these true electronic geniuses to the Cornell Cinema stage for a visual and musical masterpiece.

The brainchild of ex-Okkervil River member Jonathan Meiburg and friends, Shearwater will bring their indie rock soundscapes to Castaways on April 2nd at 8:00. Rounding out the bill will be their friends Wye Oak and The Hospital Ships (Shearwater touring member Jordan Geiger’s solo project). Button up for a night of beautifully woven songs of quiet majesty. In the meantime, check out Shearwater’s new track, aptly titled“Castaways”

Studio-obsessed indie rockers The Apples in stereo are celebrating the start of a new decade with the release of their seventh studio album,Travellers in Space and Time, their most hi-fi and hook-laden production to date. Described by frontman Robert Schneider as "retro-futuristic super-pop," the album is the official follow-up to 2007’s New Magnetic Wonder, and the band's second studio release for Elijah Wood’s Simian Records. The album will be released on April 20 via Yep Roc/Simian/Elephant 6. Tickets on sale Tues Feb 2. 9 am.

After a stunning performance at The Positive Jam, Deer Tick will return continuing support for their second full-length Born on Flag Day. Gathering critical acclaim for their round-robin style of performance featuring spur of the moment covers, Deer Tick have lived on the road from the beginning. Working inexhaustibly for eleven months of 2009, they aren’t stopping for the new decade.

American rockers Southern Culture on the Skids (SCOTS) bring their greasy fried chicken and banana pudding totin’ tunes to Castaways on May 16th! It’s been a long while since they’ve been in Ithaca, if they ever have, either way they’re far overdue. Get ready for a night of outrageous antics and a surefire, no-holds barred dance party!
