This recording of the four original Horse Flies, plus three percussionists, was inadvertently captured on Sunday, July 21st, 1996 in the Dance Tent at the 6th Annual Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance. The set took place near the end of the festival, and the energy between the band and the audience evolved into one of the most fun gigs we ever played.

Making a CD of this show was never part of the plan. The fact that this show was taped at all only became apparent to us (The Flies) three years later. Our disclaimer about sound quality is hereby made obvious: this CD was made from a digital audiotape recorded directly from the mixing board during a live concert. That said, we were truly amazed with how good the tape sounded, and we feel it captures the intensity of the live performance and the spirit of the day, which had a lot to do with a superfine dance crowd and the presence of some of our finest friends and family.
